CORE came into existence at the time of the first pit closure to help with retraining and job finding activities and it has continued as a community resource for Calverton and the surrounding areas.   Thanks to BIG Lottery funding secured in April 2008, CORE has revenue funding for at least another four years.  This means that we will continue with our programme of courses and provision of other services such as photocopying, faxing, job search facilities and a general advice and information point.
