Need someone to talk to?

Counselling is sometimes called therapy, or psychotherapy. It offers you a safe, confidential space to talk about your life, and anything that may be confusing, painful, or uncomfortable. It enables you to talk to someone who is trained to listen attentively, and to help you move forward and improve things.
Usually individuals choose to have therapy because they are experiencing difficulties and distress in their lives. However, you do not have to be in crisis or on the verge of one, before choosing to have therapy. You may be experiencing underlying feelings of dissatisfaction with life in general, or be seeking balance in your life and spirituality. All of these reasons and more will bring individuals to therapy.
Lynda Britchford, (Ad.Dip.PsyC) MNCS (Acc), has completed a three year Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. Whilst she works predominantly from a person centred perspective, she is able to draw upon a wide range of approaches to support an individual’s needs. She has a particular interest in Transactional Analysis, and has recently completed the TA 101 Certificate at the Berne Institute. She is fully insured, and an accredited member of the National Counselling Society, abiding by their Code of Ethics.
Lynda says “I am very happy to be offering my services to CORE on a voluntary basis - I recognise that it can be very difficult for people to access affordable therapy at the time that they most need it, and feel that this can be of great benefit to the local community”
